Description:
The Assault Carbine operates similarly to UT2004's Assault Rifle. That is to say it has a semi-accurate primary of hit-scan bullets and an alternate fire of a grenade fired from beneath the barrel. Unlike UT2004's Assault Rifle, the Carbine uses one ammo source for both fire modes, with a grenade costing 5 bullets.

The package also includes an Arena mutator to replace all wepaons with the Carbine and a Spawn mutator to give players the Carbine as a starting weapon.

Comments:
The Carbine operates very nicely, and proves to be a very useful weapon. My concern is that is perhaps a little too useful for a spawn weapon, as the included mutator implies it to be. While not out of balance with, say, the rocket launcher, it definitely is far more powerful than even the dual enforcers, and from my playtime, I found that bots would choose it over just about any other weapon in most circumstances. At least until they ran out of ammo.

Visually, the Carbine is a mixed bag. The firing, bullet hit and other particle effects are very nice. The model is more than suitable as well. The only real shortcoming is the texturing, but I realize this is still only a beta and know the author plans to give it a proper skin later.

On the audio front, the Carbine's firing sounds are very suiting, and most importantly, they are very distinct. It's always a good thing when you can tell what an enemy behind you is firing by the sound it is emitting.

Verdict:
Overall, if you are itching for a new gun to play with, this is definitely one to consider. It plays well, even if it is a bit imbalanced right now, and has great potential for future and final versions.

	Performance: Works well and is bug free. Perhaps a bit out of balance.
	Fun: A nice change of pace from the stock weapons.
